Thai League giants Muangthong United close to appointing former J.League manager as head coach – Reports

Thai League giants Muangthong United are close to appointing former Cerezo Osaka manager Yoon Jong-hwan as their new head coach, according to sources at the club.
The 46-year-old was last seen catching J.League outfit Cerezo leaving them in November 2018. He has also managed Japanese clubs Sagan Tosu and Ulsan Hyundai after donning the role of a coach in 2008.
The club had parted ways with their head coach Pairoj Borwonwatanadilok recently after the club’s disastrous start to the new campaign. The Kirins are second form bottom of the table having lost five of their first seven games in the Thai domestic league.
It is learnt that Yoon has already agreed terms with the Thai League outfit and his announcement as the new head coach is imminent. The coach made 40 appearances for the Korea Republic national team between 1994 and 2002 and plied his trade as a professional footballer with the likes of Cerezo, Sagan Tosu and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Muangthong suffered their fifth defeat of the season after falling prey to Nakhon Ratchasima FC 3-1 the other day. They will now play table toppers Port FC in their next league fixture on April 20.
